Thanks for the detailed post Tommytwotone, I'll keep that info handy.
Great news however, Phil from SS called me late yesterday and after about 10 minutes of reviewing settings and making a couple of quick changes life is much better! He also explained some of the details around a few settings that I wasn't sure of etc. Including setting it correctly so that my AC coupled SolarEdge system continues to work when the grid goes down. Tested that just a bit ago and everything kept chugging along, including charging the batteries, when I shut the grid connection off. Fabulous! I had hoped it worked this way but reading around here and other forums it didn't sound like that would even be possible.
My system does also continue to push power to the grid when in backup mode and full batteries rather than shutting down solar production to keep from sending back to the grid.
Hopefully all is well now but I'll keep an eye on the battery levels after sundown...
He told me that if they battery levels get out of whack with each other I may need to do the process Tommytwotone described above by temporarily changing the battery type to lead acid and setting the bottom voltage to 47 volts etc. I'll cross that bridge if it happens.
Also received an email from the tech that was going to call but didn't apologizing for not getting back to me. I appreciate that and understand sometimes things don't go as planned.
Fingers crossed for smooth sailing in the future.
I'll post back how things go after a few days.
Thank again for your help!
