I have a Giandel 2400/4400w inverter which I will use to connect to a Reliance Transfer Switch via 3 prong plug cord. The reliance transfer switch is already wired to the house to 4 circuit breakers which I have been using with a AIO gas powered generator when the power goes out. It is not a permanent system just a stand alone generator I start up and hookup when we lose power. The inverter will be utilized in a small solar system that will give me some power when I do not want to hookup the gas generator. My question is does the Inverter have to be grounded when it will be using the ground that my home already has through my breaker box in the house when the power goes out? Or should I hook it to it's own Ground rod outside?
