Growatt 3000 24v USE vs US2 consensus?

I've been reading Growatt threads all morning and can't seem to find the consensus on whether to use the US2 or USE setting for lithium batteries where you set the charging parameters yourself. The discussions seem to be all over the board and mostly over my head.

Ian at Watts247 and the Manual say to use - us2 (when not communicated with bms) BUT when i selected Us2 the next morning I had no solar production, sun was out , panel voltage was up, no current to Batteries, switched back to Use on my Growatt SPF-6000T-DVM Joe.

I believe with USE2, the float setting is tied to the bulk setting. Creates some issues with charging.
