Hacking a CHINS (or other Chinese brand) smart lithium battery to add an externally accessible can bus?

I would like to add a secondary alternator to my van for charging purposes -- but I need can bus access for my CHINS batteries. Has anyone successfully hacked a CHINS to add a can bus port? Might this be possible?

If for some reason the CHENS hack is not possible or inadvisable, is there any reason why I wouldn't be able to use my Venus GX to send a shut down signal to the alternator's regulator with sufficient a sufficient margin for error to prevent any issues? I understand why they recommend the direct connection to the BMS, but if I set up a very safe margin (say, a voltage of 27.3 or something like that), I don't understand why this wouldn't work.

It can be done. Check out

According to that github project, the three most popular BMS's are supported:
🥇 JKBMS (51% of all systems)

🥈 Jiabaida JDB BMS (20% of all systems)

🥉 Daly BMS (14% of all systems)

I should know this, but which BMS is used by Chins for their most recent 24V smart (but non-heating) batteries?
