I am embarrassed to admit I was scammed by this crazy good deal. I saw this deal and it seem interesting. I did a Zoominfo on the company and it seem legit and real. I messaged Hans who is listed as the owner. He was reassuring and helped me feel comfortable with his responses. He even sent me a copy of his passport. It matched the information on zoominfo. It was a crazy good deal $2,000 plus $500 shipping DDP! Hindsight if its too good to be true and all.
They wanted me to wire the funds. I talked them into paypal. I received an official invoice and sent the funds.

Then I received a message I needed to send it "friends and family". The funds are on hold and it will delay the shippment. They would send the funds back and I could resend it F&F. Hindsight, I should have kept it and not gotten excited to get a crazy good deal. I spoke to paypal to see what protections I would have. They told me sending it "friends and family" would not give me any paypal security. However they said I could always dispute it with my CC company. So I figured that could give me some comfort. I sent the funds back using F&F.

A few days later I received an email from the shipper. I was given a tracking number and company info. Ocean Drive Liner.

The tracking number worked fine. It showed it moving across the ocean which took a few weeks. Then once it hit the Panama canal. I received a long email from the shipper.
a portion of it...
"Due to the Middle East War affecting the Suez Canal, the Red Sea shipping crisis is upending supply chains. This is also compounded by the ongoing shipping disruptions caused by
blockages in the Panama Canal, which is experiencing one of the region’s worst droughts since the 1950s. We are bringing to your notice a very critical situation regarding your shipment
from the Jebel Ali Port (U.A.E) heading to the final destination of Port of Roma,Texas U.S.A. In accordance with the Global law of inland and international shipping act, the solar
equpiments being shipped from Jebel Ali Port (U.A.E) to Port of Roma,Texas U.S.A does not possess any war risk insurance or any international shipping insurance this highly places your
shipment under a substantial risk, due to the urgency of this situation we are hereby notifying you that a refundable insurance fee is needed to complete your shipment to the final
destination of Port of Roma,Texas U.S.A, an authorization from the European Shipment compliance that without this insurance we cannot deliver this car from the present position which is
the Port of Balboa,Panama Canal to Port Roma,Texas, Because the shipment has been Anchored at the Port of Balboa,Panama Canal for insurance confirmation urgently."
..."The insurance fee for your Solar equipments refundable insurance payment upon arrival of your shipment at the Port Vancouver is listed below:
1.EG4 18KPV Hybrid Inverter | All-In-One Solar Inverter |18000W PV Input | 12000W Output | 48V 120/240V Split Phase = $1000.00
TOTAL REFUNDABLE INSURANCE TO PAY FOR YOUR CARGO =$1,500.00"

I contact other shipping companies and google shipping fraud. And find out this a common scam. I contact Hans. telling he has to pay this "refundable" $1500 since its DDP. He of course is unwilling to pay this. The shipping company holds it hostage and Hans says he will process a refund. He still responds to my emails saying the refund is in process, but I don't expect I will ever see the refund.

I have filed with my CC. So we will see.

I have all the emails and backup. But would need to remove my personal data if I need to attach it here for proof.

But I wanted others to know its not real. Plus its a good place to vent a bit. lol
