Heat Pump for Cell Tower??

The light green box to the right of the AC unit with the ATT badge, is a CEV ( Control Enviroment Vault). They can be as small as 6'x8' or as big as 8'x12' and 8' heigh inside . They are underground rooms for fiber optical cable equipment and multiplexers. They are equipted with AC , heaters sump pumps and fans to keep they equipment cool and dry from the outside enviroments. The large lid on top opens with a key and to allow entry down into the vault by a built in ladder. They are often placed in parking lots and the pavement also offer more protection from the outside weather. If you try to open one ,the alarm will sound and notify ATT and the police. I worked for 30 years for the phone company and worked regularly in the CEV . Once you enter and trip the alarm you needed to call the local control center and ID yourself or the cops would show up. The tower next to the CEV is by chance , but the AC unit is for the CEV

That is the strangest setup I have ever seen. Everything indicates that it's underground.

Here in Florida you dig 3 ft down. You hit water so nothing's ever underground but maybe they can get away with it up there.

The sheet metal structure comes off the tower is the "cable tray" aka "Ice bridge" that takes the antennas cables to the main equipment, switch gear, and batteries.

There has to be a door or hatch where they can go down into the equipment room.

Probably fed off two split phase or three-phase. I see all the light poles in the parking lot so there's power.
I cant comment on that
But I grew up near a Bell Canada building in an unassuming location behind a bank.
A micro wave tower some dishes lots of antenna and lots of trunk lines into it.

What I did not know is it went down 7 stories and was a Norad communications hub ( confirmed by an electrician I used to work with )
The unassuming little building with no windows was just a service elevator and 6 foot thick walls...

And it did have a large refrigeration plant on the roof....

Could be 24 hour security guard around the parking lot AT&T has cameras. My employer starting to use AI technology for security cameras it can tell the difference between someone trying to steal or just standing there. Won't be long before skynet becomes self aware. AT&T probalby isn't that sophisticated cost of a stolen mini-split is less important to them then having a cell site overheat.

Ya the heavy security these days if you have an itchy bum you scared to scratch because your never alone anymore

I hope they have a low point drain on that conduit, water filled conduit makes a great heat exchanger. This is what happens when you sleeve and point up at the outside termination.

Don't they disguise the towers as palm trees? Locally they turn ours into funny pine trees.
