I'm in Colorado we got the system going and the flex 60 units and the victron smart controller are still in absorb at 28v when eg4ll batteries are on standby resting at 27.4v
All cc are set the same 28v bulk 27 float and no equalize. Rebulk is 26.9v .
Should.
I lower my settings to peak the battery at 27v
26.5 float and then put 26 as a re bulk.
the victron only has float so I would just set it at 27 and 26 float

When they engage BMS protection, they cut themselves out of the circuit and the chargers go to their absorption voltage near instantly. Look at the battery voltage and current on the Trends tab in Victronconnect. You'll likely see an abrupt drop in current and an abrupt spike to absorption and maybe even higher.

The issue is likely cell imbalance within the battery engaging protection because one cell has hit limit.

Recommend all chargers:

Absorption 27.6V
Float 27.2V
Fixed absorption period of 2 hours
No tail current

Victron expert settings, select fixed and set for two hours. Disable tail current.

In the FM60:
Absorb Time Limits: 2.0 hours
Absorb End Amps: 00

Now we are at 26.4 and still none of the charger are pushing into the 24v eg4ll batteries still on discharge.
I'm freaking out why are they not floating or Absorb to being back to set points???

Well the chargers just got to 26.5v where batteries were at and they are now charging the batteries😁.
This is my first install and we got done at evenings end so never saw any charging happen.
As they batteries were fully charged when installed to be as close Balanced as possible.
We used.
20% overnight That was with Clothes washer and dryer being used at night as well as the well pump and the instant water heater for 3 showers.
800ah of eg4ll and 4k in panels now up.
I don't
Think they will ever have to start a generator again.

What are your charge controllers reporting?
I have a question I am sure you have the answer for about the charge controllers.

He didn't have a a pv disconnect before 1 of the flex 60 units and it's been that way for 10 years  ..
the battery disconnect gets flipped off when they leave the cabin & the flex CC is still pushing at nothing. How bad can this be???
I told him it's needed it by code.

The Victron just shuts itself down and takes no energy from the panels in this state as it doesn't detect the batteries so no worries on it.

thank you for your knowledge ahead of time.

MPPT (and all chargers) don't push. Batteries pull.

If they're still working (and they should be), they're fine.

If these were cheap PWM controllers, they probably would have quit working the first time they were shut down with the array still attached.

This is not 100% correct. The Victron MPPT can run exclusively off PV without a battery, and they will deliver their absorption/float voltage at their battery terminals even if no battery is present.

If they are connected to the battery and not the array, they will draw a very small amount of power from the battery.

If disconnected from both, they are completely shutdown.
