Hello,
I have 6 100 watt HQST panels on my roof that will be in 2s3p going into a 40a epever SCC and I'm trying to figure out the grounding issue but I've found a lot of contradicting information. What AWG and type of wire do I need? Will I need grounding lugs? If I install on aluminum rails or strut can I just ground the rails instead of all of the panels? Can I use a jacketed and or stranded wire or does it need to be a bare solid wire? If I put in a new grounding screw on the RV chassis can I use it to ground the panels, SCC, and inverter on the same screw?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Most people skip the frame grounding on the panels. Yes if the SCC and inverter have a chassis ground lug there should be a ground wire direct from the lug to the frame or main ground bus. Panels can be grounded to the same point if you choose. Best to have insulation on stranded wire, bare solid copper is fine too. Usually #8 is plenty.
