I have a Victron Multiplus II in my trailer, two 280 ah 4s LifePo4 batteries, I have the BMV-712 Smart Shunt (not connected to the Multiplus) and have a Color Control GX connected to the Multiplus.

The batteries are at 13.74 volts and the BMS (overkill) and the BMV-712 report a SOC of 99% and 100% respectively, however the Color Control GX is report 41% SOC.

How do I fix the Color Control GX to report accurately?

The color control GX pulls the data from the devices. do you have the shunt connected to the GX or is it using the MP to pull the battery info? You can check in devices and see what devices it shows and what the SoC is for each. I'm assuming its pulling from the MP. This can be easily fixed by using a vedirect cable from the BMV to the GX then it'll use that BMV data.

My bet is the settings on the MP is for 1 280ah battery or 200ah (might be default) but I think it just guesses the SoC or can be wildly inaccurate since it only thinks the battery is connected to the inverter and nothing else.

No the shunt is not connected to the MP. The GX is getting battery info from the MP. I will get a VE.Direct cable and see what happens. I do not know what the settings are on the MP, I thought I would be able to see those with the CCGX but I can not. This system was originally installed by the previous owner.

The GX is the brains, everything connects to that. You want a vedirect cable going from the back of the bmv display to the GX

That color control GX is old, the CerboGX and touch is the new version, they also make an erakno GX that just came out and is same format as your color touch GX. Just a thought to look into see if any features you want added. Not sure of the differences.

If your BMS has a CAN port you can get the cerbogx (not S) or the other one and plug it right in then not need the shunt or anything. The battery will tell Victron everything and even using DVCC it'll set the charging voltages and limits and send alerts if any issues.

No you can't control the MP settings from the GX. Is it connected to VRM website using wifi/ethernet? If so you can use a computer and go to the vrm.victronenergy.com website and device list then hit remote VEConfigure and download the config file, open it up in VEconfig software (download from victrons site) make changes and save then upload the file back. Also you might want to hit that firmware update and get them all updated to latest versions as they add features regularly

You can also just use a mk3 to usb and disconnect the GX and plug the laptop directly to the MP to program. Victron connect has some features but once you know how to use the web version there's no need to actually plug anything in. If you don't disconnect the GX it can cause issues and break things
