Hithium 314ah Review/Capacity Test 333ah

Could do that for the other new Hithium and 304eve grade 'b' if I had a spare laptop to run tests, otherwise, it takes too much time.
If you are up for experimentation, when the cells are cycled after idling for some time, the capacity will come up.

I charge to 3.45V per cell and don't worry about those AH above that point. If I need more capacity, I'll add another battery.
Currently set to 55.2v. Pack #3 has a runner that starts showing around 3.3x so as long as they reach ~54v they should be good. Not loosing much ah their either.

To clarify, pack #1-#4 are the old Eve 304ah 'b' grade cells, not the new Hithium or Eve 'a' grade cells.

Have to get another computer to run the tests. Might ask boy is he has another computer laying around the house that could be used for testing. I'll have to break apart all the current battery packs to install the new metal battery shelf and that may be a good time to do some testing.

These are the cells. Shipping by DDP, from China to Missouri, in the U.S., was $555. Shipping time was 7weeks. PayPal fee was 5%. I was not offered a discount for ordering multiple cells. FWIW, the tracking number Jenny sent was for UPS delivery but the cells were delivered by FedEx. Makes it difficult to be home when the delivery arrives if you don't have the correct tracking number.

Did you order cases too, or just the cells?

I've worked with her on my last order (4 DIY cases, 66 EVE cells (spares)) and it was a decent experience.
US stock orders worked well too, got another case and 16 REPT cells from the US stock.

How is this most recent set of REPT 280 versus the previous batch if you got some then. Any visual differences?

It was my first set. I've had no issues with them, perfectly flat. Ran standalone while I was waiting for the larger shipment from China. I did do a full charge, top balance, discharge to 20% cycle on them before putting into service. But they've been great. They're part of the rest of my 'pack' now, with the EVE cells. No distinguishable difference. I've been running down to around 40% SoC every day for about a month now.

Nice thing (IMO) about the US cases is M8 terminals vs the special ones. Probably can get them if you ask, but my request there seemed to get lost in the shuffle.

Hope that helps. :)

Thanks for the info.

I got a set of the rept 280 out of Houston a few months ago and back then they had the original QR code, at $77+5% per cell.

Now they have them available out of Houston at $65+5% per cell, but with the listing modified to say they may not have the original QR code, still new and unused etc. In my mind there must be a reason these got their original QR code overwritten, quality issues etc.

I may wait for the rept 320s that are apparently around the corner.

I definitely like the studs on the rept, huge surface area and no fears of shearing off the terminal under torque like the eve offset double terminals are liable to.

Just the cells. Right now I'm painting a steel shelf that holds 8 16s packs. Still not sure how I used over 60' of 3" angle iron and 10' of rectangular tubing on a 48" shelf. 🤷‍♂️ Now I have to figure out how to get it into place. Anyone up for a 'free' beer? 🍻

Had to eat four Advil just thinking about moving that. Hopefully the footing is sound prob end up 4000+lbs fully loaded?

Steel in frame amounts to 150,411g. or ~331pounds for us folks. 64 eve 304ah cells@364,160g./802.8lbs. 64Hithium 314ah cells@373,760g./824lbs. Roughly 888,134g/1958lbs total.

Krap, my shop floor is going to break.

How do I figure up how much weight a concrete slab can bear per surface area? The feet are 4 at 3"x3". The concrete is ~3000psi, 4-6" deep, and has steel reinforcement.

Edit original: A well-prepared and properly cured 6-inch slab of 4,000 psi concrete can typically handle concentrated loads of up to 3,000 pounds spread over an area of 1 square foot. This capacity makes it suitable for supporting vehicles in residential garages.

I'd stop by if you were close.
Sounds like a beast of a shelf. I like it.

My ESS rack is 8 packs one above the other, and the expansion will begin a new identical rack right beside it.
Since the 11,000 lbs forklift never fell through the concrete floor, I don't worry about a couple stacks of batteries at all.

I need to unsubscribe from this thread... There were 165 280Ah REPT cells available in Houston when I checked this morning ...
Needs vs wants needs vs wants needs vs wants. ...

Yea I think I need another pack to put me above the Bolt pack capacity so I can charge completely full from the house battery... Now I need more panels to support more battery but I'll need another AIO because I'm running out of MPPTs.

Victron 450/100 or a Midnite hawkes bay 90 or 120A?

Yeah, this order of cells hasn't even shipped yet and I'm thinking of the new shop I'd like to build and how cells are so affordable now ...
