I just pulled the plug and purchased the EG4 18kpv inverter, 8 lifepo batteries and 24 canadian 450 watt monofacial solar panels from signature solar. Two questions. I live in southwestern virginia so I don't have to worry about extreme cold temperatures. Can I run two strings of 12 panels in series? Also should i get a combiner box?

It all depends on the voltage of the panels whether 12 is ok or not and your lowest recorded temperature at that location. You will probably need to post the panel label for people to be able to comment and also your coldest temperature…

The inverter information is as follows:

UNIT STARTUP VOLTAGE 100 VDC
MPPT OPERATING VOLTAGE RANGE 140-500 VDC
NOMINAL MPPT VOLTAGE 360 VDC

The solar panel VOC is 38.9. and here is temperature information from FSEC solar reference map.

Thank you . I will try and figure out from WP video but it would be helpful if it can be confirmed by others.

Having 12 panels in series would be about 466.8V. The MPPT can handle up to 600V but will only utilize up to 500V. So, yes you could put 12 panels in series on each MPPT.
