I’m in the middle of planning out my array and panels to purchase and I keep coming within ~6” of regulation clearings.

- 36” either side clear
-18” ridge

It’s for a DADU but I’m sure this issue comes up with everyone. I’d rather not loose any more panel space

Are accessory buildings exempt from that requirement in your area?

A detached accessory dwelling unit (DADU), often called a backyard cottage or carriage house, is an ADU located in a separate structure from the main house.

Seattle considers a dadu a single family structure for the above purposes .. came from the Seattle planning department..

Neither of those drawings include any roof vents.

In my case, I had panels installed on the North side, which for down south in AZ works great. Makes next to no power at the shortest days of the year when I don’t use much electricity and makes much more power in the longest days of the year when I need AC.

I have about half the solar on the south side, and half on the North side.

Vents will be on the North side. I need to over-panel the south side as I use more power over the winter for heating.,
