My original kit came with a solar panel 120w, 30amp SC and PV leads and a battery lead.
It seems the pv leads are 12 awg but there was no info to tell me what awg the battery to SC was.
I looked on the net and it seems you can buy circular tool to find out thickness of single core cable but not stranded.
So is the only way to separate the strands and count them and then times them by the thickness off each strand then use a table to find the awg
Seems a very antiquated way of finding the awg
Maybe there is a tool that I haven't seen

Nothing printed the wire insulation at all? Good quality wire will have Gauge, Voltage and temperature rating, and UL number printed on the insulation.
Are the conductor bigger than the 12Awg wire provided?
10Awg will handle 30A of current.

Will check the cable to see if there are any markings on it
