Hello here, I needed some advice.I purchased two 24v 100amp lifepo4 batteries with welded bus bars, I will be making 48v system.
My question is how is the best way top balance them and discharge to last long time, in 24v or I will connect them in series to 48v add bms to top balance them.what voltage I have to charge them up
I have
Two 24v 100amp lifepo4 with welded bus bars
Overkill 48v 16s 100 amp bms
Amazon variable 60v 5amp charger
Aims power 48V Smart Charger 25 Amps
Mpp Lvx6048 inverter

You say you have 2x 24 volt batteries.
Do these 24 volt batteries already have an 8s bms each?
Please post a picture of the batteries so that we can see what you are working with.

I have 2x24v batteries, and no bms connected ,I purchased separately 48v 16s 100 amp bms

Ok make a 16s battery and charge at system voltage until the first cell trips the bms on over voltage.
Let the pack settle for a couple of hours.

Then Use a benchtop charger to charge each cell individually.

Here is the secret sauce...
Electricity tries to get back to its source.
That means you attach the battery charger to individual cells so that the only path to source is through the specific cell you want to charge.
Now top each cell off to 3.65 volts.
Pay close attention to polarity.

Remember to use thick cables with ring terminals to minimize voltage drop so that you can get an except-able amount of current through the cable.
