Watched a lot of YouTube and I still feel like I'm missing something with my setup. We're in the Houston metro area.
1. Got 1 18kpv connected directly to the main. Main is a 240 amp panel but it is done since we custom built the home so every bathroom has it's own breaker and each room doesn't share any breakers. Overkill, sure but the cost wasn't way out of this world for us so we yolo'ed on the panel and breakers. Since it's just my wife and I and I think when we switch to the battery, 50 amp should be enough. Doing the whole free nights thing
Q. Would it be better if I got 2 18kpv or a 6k to supplement the 18kpv so the 50 amp would be more if even possible to mix these 2 inverters?
2.Got the Eco-worthy battery rack combo, the 4 batteries thing in eBay. Plan on hooking it directly to the 18kpv (assuming 1 18KpV is enough). I do plan on getting more of these if it works out for a total sum of 100kwh for emergencies because, you know, hurricanes.
Q. Do I need a shint (sp?) or is it safe to just wire it directly to the inverter? I have this weird feeling I'm missing something. I do have a main breaker from the meter to the 18kpv.
Before I flip the switch, it would be better if I have all my ducks in a row. Currently it's just the 18kpv doing it's passthrough thing though it doesn't show any numbers, everything is 0, even consumption. I know why battery and solar are 0 but consumption is 0? Doesn't meter how much I'm pulling from the grid?
Thanks y'all! About ready to do this for our forever home.
Again, thanks to everyone here.
