Im and idiot, as such sis something stupid and bought 8 EVE mb31 314ah cells and now I have a problem...

The solid busbar without the orange sleeve is a bit odd. The width is unusual. Perhaps it's thinner than the busbar with the orange sleeve? Maybe they ran out of one style?

Either way, they'll both work the same way. When installing the screws, don't overtighten. Use a torque wrench according to the specs for your cells.

Its the same thickness as the one with the orange sleeve but Im pretty sure its made of aluminum and not copper. The bend in the copper one allows it to have more metal at the same length. Maybe that explains the extra width?

I would be interested in all 8.... but before considering them I would want a high res picture of them all sitting together. In particular does it look like the welds has cracks in them? Any of them?

I can't tell, but does it look like sandpaper marks along the edges?
not from what I can see. doesn't appear tampered with in anyway. Surface is slightly rough when you rub it with finger. Heres another attempt with cheap phone camera

the welds look, OK. My webcam seems to be better quality than my phone cam but the lighting in the room by the computer leaves a glare in the photo and its nighttime so i cant use ambient.. I only opened 1 box so I havnt looked at the other 4 yet. Ill see what i can do to get a more crispy photo. I have to run to the store right now so ill be back later.

@juicedonwheels, we're not trying to piss in your pudding. You're in a hurry-up situation and these systems require patience and planning. We don't want you to get hurt, so we're suggesting that you step back from a DIY battery. We can be a very critical bunch but it's usually accompanied by constructive criticism.
I really hope you listen to and take this VERY Good advice!

None that I know of, I was going to buy the cells from him but was unwilling to pay full price with no warranty... and he took long enough I just ordered cells.

Ah well, I'm off to build a 16s battery using these cells in the morning. At least I know to hold the terminal with a spanner, which shouldn't be awkward and dangerous at all - as long as it doesn't touch the next cell. That couldn't happen right ? Or maybe it could and did, in late december 2024.

35mm thin clawfoot using a breaker bar and extension... this way there is zero chance of touching the next terminal.
