Indoor Midnight Spd

I am looking at adding a Midnight SPD indoors as a layer of protection. I enclosed a possible diagram. Apologies in advance for my drawing skills. Does this configuration make sense?

This replaces an earlier post. I now have 2 cups of coffee on board as well as a 40 minute walk to wake up the brain.

If I understand the technology properly, does the Midnite SPD act as an over current shunt to ground? In other words, if current exceeds the unit rating, it redirects the overage to the ground line.

Is this correct?
