I have been watching Will's videos for a long time and finally pulled the trigger on an EG4 setup. Was worried on both the price increase and tax credit going away in 2025!
Here is what I bought :
EG4 18kPV, EG4 PowerPro Batteries (3), Vsun 410w Bifacial Solar Panel (27) [Thats the space I have, for now]

My plan is to create a 100a critical power circuit and move all lights, fridge and freezer to this panel. I have a 150a service, but my usage has only gone above 100a when I charge my EV. Here is a broad outline of what I have in mind. Ofcourse, Im going to get an electrician to setup the panels and wiring. But can you please comment on anything Im missing?

Followup Question : I have an 80amp Ford Charge Pro (Max pull 48a) on a 100a breaker (via subpanel). Would it be safe to put that on the critical load or leave it on the main?

Looks like you have the general outline correct, which PowerPro? If it's one of the WallMount 280AH then that feels pretty well balanced as a system.

I wouldn't put the EV charger on the critical loads panel, it might work if you are using no other power, and with grid support it'll probably work, but when the grid goes down it might suck your batteries dry in a very short period of time. Can you charge your EV from a regular outlet at lower speeds, or can you select the charge power?

Remember the 18Kpv only supports an output power of 50A (12KW), so I'd leave the EV charger off the Critical Loads and either charge from a 'normal 120v' outlet in an emergency, or drive somewhere and charge up. if the grid is down.

You might want a backup if your grid is unreliable, a cheap generator and a ChargeVerter would be my preference if you need it.

You probably already know this, but the system has to be installed in 2024 to get the tax credit for 2024. Just don’t want you to get to your accountant and have a surprise you weren’t expecting.

Yes. Thanks. I was more worried about the tariff and hence the pr

Understood. It makes a ton of sense. I will plan for a ChargeVerter and I already have a EU7000iS.

Im in mid-Florida. With hurricanes so often, no-power days are becoming norms from no-power hours!!

Yes. Im guessing any change will only impact 2026 and forward since it takes a while for changes like these to get through Senate. I will get this installed in 2025 and claim credit then.

@BKY2003 Thanks for that link. I saw the "Partial Backup" section. That setup will have my Critical Loads out of power when Im working/updating the EG4. So I took the transfer switch option in Page #3 and added to the Page #2. So essentially Im leaving some loads (i.e EV Charger, Oven, Washer/Dryer, Pool pump) on the main panel.
