In @Will Prowse's all-in-one setup he uses an extension cord, cut and stripped, for the MPP Solar inverter output and grid input. I read somewhere else here that an SO (SOOW?) cable would be better? Any recommendations or just buy the right gauge, length, and number of conductors?

I'm not seeing any already fitted with male/female plugs on Amazon.

It's all in your manual.
1012 says 16 AWG.
2kva units are 14 AWG

What you read was for a 5kva unit that you could not even find an extension cord large enough.

There is nothing wrong with using an extension cord for the 1012 all in one.

I don't have a 1012 or manual, just planning. My question wasn't really about the gauge but the use of extension or SO/SOOW cable.

Thanks! That will make things easier.
