I'm mounting an old "3000w" Powerjack inverter in my work ute to charge tool batteries.
I want to relocate its LCD and power on-off switch to a more accessible location.
LCD was no probs but I'm not sure I should mess with the power switch?
Not sure if the switch is AC or DC? It says 20 amp AC on the switch. Doesn't register any voltage with a multimeter
I just want to splice in about 1m of extra wire
Any ideas?
Be warned I will have more questions :D

Did you check both terminals on the switch, each with reference to ground (either AC or DC) ?
If it doesn't have any voltage on it, it's probably just a "dry contact". Meaning that current doesn't pass through it, it just signals something on the inverter to power on.

Yes I checked all terminals. 1 terminal briefly dipped into negative voltage when I probed it then fired up the inverter

I think you should be OK just extending the existing wires. They are probably thin wires, just use something similar.
