Is a Victron shunt needed to properly control two Victron SCC's

I currently have a Victron SCC and Renogy shunt in my system.
I plan to add another Victron SCC and panels to increase capacity.
Will the two Victron SCC's work together with the Renogy shunt, or do I need to replace it with a Victron smart shunt?

No, they will not "work with" the renogy shunt, but they can coexist in the same system.

Even if they are only in their own VE.Smart network with each other, they will at least coordinate and stay in the same phase of charging, bulk, absorp, float.

They benefit from interfacing with a Victron shunt to get direct battery voltage and actual current flow into the battery for optimized charging and charge termination. This is an optimization, not a requirement.

Thank you for the clear answer.
Now I can take my time to find a good deal on a new shunt, but won't stress out if I don't have one right away.

300a smart shunt is a pretty good deal at $71 and uses M8 bolts (5/16).

The 500A uses m10 (3/8).

I like to keep only hand only one lug size in my common cabling.

I want to clarify that you don't NEED to get a new shunt if you just want to get voltage, current and SoC information. The MPPT will operate fine, and the Renogy shunt will operate fine doing their respective things separately.

If you want the interactive features where the MPPT get voltage, current, and temperature (if equipped) data from the shunt, then you'll want a smartshunt or a BMV-712.

Thank you for the extra clarification, and for the reminder of Victron's reasonable shunt price.(y)
