Is anyone using MIN TL XH US V3 with ATS-US?

Sorry I didn't realize there would be so much activity on this thread.
I don't think we can fault signature solar for this one if growatt did not communicate to anyone that there have been changes to the inverters. As much as I love my growatt inverter their documentation has been abysmal to put it mildly.

@saenns does your inverter have these backup outputs labeled?View attachment 201971

Yes it has backup outputs and they are connected to my ATS.

Hi! It looks like you're already connected with tech support but if you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to me!

Yes, thank you for asking in @SignatureSolarJess . They say they can't send me a V2 inverter because they only have V3. But they did offer a refund which is a good start. Are you able to help at all getting a V2?

The documentation is actually available on the Growatt website. Also on the Growatt utube channel. Yes, it is lacking a lot in detail, but anyone selling the stuff should provide the documentation that is actually available - in this case SS is not. There are other sellers who do.
@MajicDiver can you refer me to sellers who offer v2?

I have two V2 inverters. I can give you 3 recommendations for where to buy.
1). One I bought from Renvu in April, 2023. I have had good pre-sale technical support from Renvu over the years and several of my batteries came from them. In one instance I had an issue with understanding how to do something on one of my batteries and they got the correct Growatt person involved who educated me. Drawbacks are prices are higher than most anyone else and their shipping seems to also be higher. Renvu does not stock Growatt products but drop ships directly from the Growatt warehouse in LA area. Everything I purchased was drop shipped- I like that, there is lots of risk in a 3rd party handling equipment when it can be drop shipped from the manufacture warehouse in US.
2) I purchased my 2nd V2 from San Tan in June of 2023, along with a 9.9kW battery. I’ve also had good experience with pre-sale technical support from San Tan. As of last summer, they could sell any Growatt product, regardless of wether it was listed on the San tan website or not. San Tan price and shipping was reasonable and at the time they were beating on price everyone I found selling Growatt stuff.
3) I have had very recent very positive experience with Self2solar. I have purchased what should be my last two batteries from them. They have at least one person who is extremely knowledgeable on Growatt products and very fast with responses to technical questions. They appear to be beating everyone on Growatt battery prices - I have not compared their inverter prices though - they are on their website. They also sell all Growatt products and do stock some but primarily drop ship from the Growatt warehouse in LA area.

I have not seen better pre-sale technical support than what I’ve gotten from Self2solar, the individual I dealt with was very knowledgeable.
With signature solar, they seem to have a persistent culture problem, over the past almost 4 years I’ve had at least 6-7 incredibly ridiculous pre-sales and after sales technical support interactions with them - I’ve never had a successful technical interaction with SS. The culture problem is they they all seem to feel the need to make something up if they are asked a question they do not know an answer to. Eventually I intend to do a series of reviews documenting s this interactions. It’s sad because they have potential- just need to fix the tech support issues.

I just went through this same hassle due to Growatt's horrible documentation. I had to replace my V3 inverter with a V2, but the vendor wouldn't take it back. Growatt eventually knocked off a few hundred on the replacement unit, but they have no idea what configuration management is when the sell two very different products having the exact same model number.

Thank you, MajicDiver. I bought a replacement from Self2Solar. Jesse there was very helpful and ordered a V2 for me from Growatt which is working well with the ATS.

@SignatureSolarJess can you please help me with the RMA? Signature Solar received the V3 on 6/18 but I haven't received the refund yet.

Absolutely! If you could send me your name and email address, I can get you an update!

Hi @SignatureSolarJess, sorry I missed your response. I was told on several occasions since July that a check was coming, which eventually it did on 11/14 but it turned out to be for just $498, which is $998 less than I expected. I will send you my information by private message, I would really appreciate any help you can provide.

I have a MIN 1400TL-XH-US and an ATS-11400-US purchased from Signature Solar. The inverter refuses to supply power to the ATS. When grid disconnects, it enters standby mode with warning code 300 (no utility) or 607 (abnormal communication with off-grid box). No voltage on the backup terminals under any conditions.

I spent about 8 hours troubleshooting during a power outage yesterday. Finally Growatt tech support concluded that I have V3 inverter (P/N PV01.0083600) which is not compatible with the ATS-11400-US. I either need to replace the inverter with V2 (P/N PV01.0072901) or replace the ATS-US with an SYN-200-XH-US.

I do not understand how this is possible. The manual for the MIN 11400TL-XH-US on the signature solar product details page shows the ATS-US as of today, over one year since I bought it. How could I possibly find a V2 inverter now that presumably it's been replaced by V3, and the P/N is not specified by the seller? Why would V3 break compatibility with such a simple interface? All it needs to do is apply power to the backup terminals... which apparently have no purpose because the SYN connects only to the GRID terminals?

I am extremely frustrated. Best case scenario, Signature Solar compensates me for the ATS. Then I need to pay for the price difference with SYN, labor to replace it, permitting etc... SYN is bigger so it won't fit on the wall where the ATS-US was. Now I have to back up the entire house, not just my critical loads panel.

Any tips for how to make this work? Or escalate with Growatt Tech Support? Or Signature Solar Customer Service?
Be careful with the SYN-200. If you have AC connect, you can't have any solar panels connected to the MIN.

I believe you are incorrect. Can you explain why you think that is so? I have ac coupled my MINs a number of different ways and have had zero problems. What exactly have you tried to do that doesn’t work?

Sorry - been out of town.
Take a look at figure 1.4 in the attached pdf. You'll see no panels attached to the MIN inverter. Growatt confirms that is correct - no panels can attach to the MIN. I'm looking to attach two enphase M215 strings to the system, plus attach panels to the MIN 11400.

It appears thats only if the other inverter is something other than a growatt XH-US (because the SYN would not be able to communicate with it) Note that the documents you are discussing are for putting a SYN into an existing system just to add a battery.

You absolutely can connect more than one XH-US to a SYN and both can have PV and batteries.
