is there an affordable module that will convert most generators to a dry contact inverter.

from my understanding just about all simple box store generators predator and champion need the same thing . start wire for 2 seconds and kill switch swire for 2 seconds. in this day in age there has to be a simple solution but can seem to find one that is affordable , they all run like 300 and tend to be propritary. I thougth about building one using relays but it wont be smart to know if its running ,? does any one have an simple [50-100$] solution?
