Is this normal?

I just got a 100Ah AGM battery from Renogy and at spots along the part where they case comes together there is this brown substance.
I’m hoping it’s glue and not some sort of discharge.

I assume it is NOT sticky. If it is hard, likely just excess glue from assembly. Apprears the lid is glued on with these units. Looks to be a similar to how telecom batteries are assembled, always seems to be some visable glue from joining the lid to the lower case.

Thanks for the reply. It wasn’t sticky. I talked with Renogy yesterday. They had me send a pic while on the phone. They asked if it had a smell but I can’t s since I had Covid so I don’t know. Eventually after checking with a supervisor they said they’d have Fedex pick it up and send me a new one.
We’ll see how that process goes. As of right now I was impressed with their response.
