Hi all - trying to finalise a diagram for my setup im tackling next few weeks -

800w 48v panels 20a max ===> 50amp 2 pole breaker/disconnect for both wires ===> Victron 100/30 controller ===> (Neg goes from controller to battery) / Pos goes through 40amp (or 30amp?) single pole breaker/disconnect ===> 250amp single breaker between 5000w inverter and battery. I have a Daly 250 BMS ill be adding as well..

Lots of comments.

1) A 10,000W, 24V inverter will draw a hell of a lot more than 250A from the battery. It is closer to 450A in worst case.

Please review this:

2) The breakers pictured for the PV disconnect appear to be houshold AC breakers. If they are not rated for DC, they should not be used.

3) The surface mount breakers shown for the inverter and charge controller appear to be no-name brands. I don't trust these. I am sure some of them are fine, but some of them are more of a hazard device than a safety device. For that style breaker, stick with the name brands Eaton/Bussman, Blue Sea (made by Eaton/bussman), and littlefuse are a few good brands.)
The 250A inverter breaker shown is probably crap.

its split phase, 5000w each side (110 and 230) so max on 230 puts 250 in a safe range imo- on 110 ill hardly be pulling more than 1500 at a time-

Also - the panel breaker is only actually a disconnect, not a breaker, but ill get a DC type for all of these - thanks.

The battery has to provide the power for both halves of the 230.....so if the inverter is maxed out the battery has to provide current for the full 10,000W.
