Issue - Batteries charging from the Grid

Good Day,

I own an EG4 6000XP Inverter. The Inverter is set to switch over to the grid when the batteries reach around 30%. It is also set to switch back to the inverter and stop using the grid when the batteries reach abot 40%. No issues. This has been my setting for about a year. This was my setting up to last week April 27.

Since then, I am noticing that if I turn on the Grid power, it automatically starts to charge the batteries. I am not sure what is causing this. I understand that there was a Firmware Update recently. My current Firmware is ccaa-180C0D.

Grateful for some assistance and guidance in getting back to my original settings. I don't want to charge my batteries from the Grid, if I don't have to.

Thanks.

Did you verify that your setting were not changed to a default setting and not what you had before the firmware update? I've noticed setting being changed after a firmware update on other inverters.

I don't know about eg4's exactly, but on a lot of inverters, option 1 is the priority. Solar first, grid first, SBU, SUB.

It sounds like when updating the firmware, it reset some factory options, and it wouldn't surprise me if the factory option was grid first. However, it sounds like you want SBU mode, with conditions on battery charging.

SO that's where I would start.

This is from my Charge Settings page. Does this have anything to do with the issue that I am having?

no-ish. That's where you specify settings that would take effect in SBU mode. Where you want to look is where you set SBU mode, or grid priority, or solar priority, or SUB mode.

AC charge is disabled so those settings won't apply.

have you tried checking the settings under the maintenance tab using a browser on a pc?

Your firmware was not updated.. no firmware is automatically pushed. 0C0D is from last year so something else did it. Are you sure you weren't just looking around and changed something by accident? If you'll post your settings someone will probably spot something.
