I’m experiencing an integration issue between my Seplos BMS and an SMA Sunny Island inverter (model S18.0H-13). During startup, the inverter displays a “section switch is not open” error, despite following the recommended startup sequence.
Here are my BMS details:
• Manufacturer: CAN:SMA SOFAR
• Software Version: 16.6
• Part Model: 1101-SP76
• Protocol Version: 2.0
The Battery Monitor software is set to “CAN:SMA SOFAR.” I suspect that the firmware or protocol might be causing miscommunication with the inverter. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Should I be using a different protocol setting, or is there a firmware update available that could help resolve this error? Any troubleshooting tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
