Issues with XW Pro 6848 and in particular Insight Home

System is pretty straightforward. Grid-tie XW Pro 6848 with 3x Pylontech US3000C batteries, controlled by Insight Home gateway.

My issue is that this particular Insight Home unit has stopped responding numerous times, necessitating me to either clear the settings with the power button (sometimes 3, 6, 9, etc), or replacing the internal SD Card (thought I was out of the woods replacing it).

Really getting quite frustrated with the Insight Home unit and was wondering whether there are any alternatives?

No, as I said in the other post, I used a brand new standard 32gb sandisk micro SD. Regardless, I'm not fond of the Insight Home and am considering alternatives, know of any?

Unfortunately Schneider is using a proprietary version of Xanbus to communicate... there are some folks working on data dumps using mod bus adapters and Rpi. I have been reading the thread but it seems like it can only read and decode some data. As far as setting parameters they are a hash crypto with the serial number of the box. I haven't seen any alternatives....

I to wish there was something... and if you find one make a big post about it, and make lots of instant friends.

Yes, this is true

You mean CAN Bus adapters? That would be the only way to get a data dump from the Xanbus port. On the other hand There are literally hundreds of accessible Read Only and Read/Write Modbus Registers available but those are only available via the InsightHome with Modbus TCP or RS485. Theoretically its possible to fully monitor and control the XW Pro with an outside PLC or Node-Red or Pymodbus. Would be a massive undertaking and doesn't eliminate the need for an Insight. However, if the main user interface on the Insight is not responding maybe the Modbus part would still work.

Just saw a post on the Forum the other day mentioning InsightHome devices being advertised for under $300.

You're using the CAN interface on the Insight Home to communicate with the Plyontech BMS for closed loop, I am assuming.
I would be curious if running the Insight Home without the CAN connection eliminates the lockups.
If that prevents the problem, it might be worth using an external power supply with the Insight Home, instead of just XANBUS power from the XW Pro.
Part number SMI18-12-V-P5 - is just a 12V DC 1.6A power supply.

Can you elaborate on this? Like you can't log in to the web ui, or...?

I've had an Insight Home for several years now and its never once been offline or become unresponsive.

The only other compatible unit would be the Insight Facility but it's more money, for what would in your case be the exact same functionality as Insight Home.

You need either Insight Home or Insight Facility, depending on how many Xanbus devices you have. They both support lithium batteries.
Yeah, they both have RS-485 Modbus and CAN to communicate with a BMS, so I wonder what the basis of that statement could be.
