When can I download it ?When it comes to BMS settings Steve_S wrote the book. Literally. The previous rendition of the JK manual was updated to English by him so he knows his Bms material.

so what did you find?Might I suggest a search on “working range” as there is a great deal written in other threads about this. In my cell testing it was eye opening how few amps are above and below that range.
@upnorthandpersonal you're right, and @bigbrovar is right too. I, myself, am a collaborator in Voltronic Axpert firmware patching community, we apply the patching on recently released firmware of existing models to fix existing hardware, because the Chinese manufacturer is (not aware of the bug / don't know how to fix / don't want to fix). So, in the long-run, it's a dead-end community, but in the short run it's super beneficial for existing consumers.Because it's quite a major undertaking to reverse engineer the firmware. Personally I would not want to do this for a dead-end piece of hardware (assume JK stops making it tomorrow) just for the ones in the field. One of the reasons: you'll probably discover a bunch of issues with the hardware you'd want to fix, improve (think the coulomb counter, the entire AFE, etc.) which you now just have to work around in software instead of fixing them properly.
Super interesting to me!!!!When the BMS bricks in Mid-Update the Power Button becomes NON-Functional and you cannot turn off the BMS with the switch. Your only option is to disconnect the BMS Power (Red Plug-in wire).
Not my first rodeo !
QUICKY UPDATE 15.30 Fireware !
OK, Took Bricked BMS, pulled the cover and disconnected power line, restarted with holding Power Button (and NOT letting go), using PC-App (already to go with firmware etc) and entered the FORCE UPDATE code and forced it. It took it and after a BMS restarted everything looks fine. SETTINGS NOT CHANGED !
Quick look through and everything "appears" to be fine.
Noted that the Forced Update cleared the logs - not a great loss but noteworthy if someone is keeping them.
Did 2nd 15.27 BMS and updated to 15.30 (no force required) and that went well.
Logs also seem to have been purged out.
SOC ! NOT RIGHT !!!!
They are NOT at my designated 100% (3.425), yet the BMS says they are at 3.395. The BMS' came up saying they are at 100%. UGH !
I am leaving 3 Packs at 15.24 (fairly stable) and will have 3 Packs running 15.30. As they cycle and do their thing today, I should get a better picture tomorrow morning with regards to SOC as dispensed out. Given they did not read "actual cell voltage in relation to my 100% SOC setting and flubbed it, I doubt this is sorted yet.
FYI: I am using the 2.9.0 PC-App which is still apparently MIA.
I will report back in this thread IF anything new or interesting pops out of this 15.30 update.
Hi steve I have a semi bricked JK BMS i'm in contact with JK to get it fixed but they keep repeating the same answers, I tried your method (bit different from the normal force method). The BMS starts and I see it in the PC software but as soon as I start normal update the BMS hangs and does not repsond any more until power cycle. And force update nothing happens. I believe it is hardware defect but not sure. Any tips ?
My other 2 JK BMS update just fine.
Just to make sure, did you try this method:
GOOD NEWS - BMS RECOVERED from Bricking !
OKAY seems I missed a "detail" to force the update.
YES you have to disconnect the BMS to get it to reset "blank & off".
You need to have the PC-App ready to go and have your flash update at hand for the app.
You also need the CODE to force the update available.
Do have the PC RS485-USB cable attached to BMS.
Start the BMS with the Switch and KEEP HOLDING IT ! Then press the tiny Reset Button (NOT letting go of power switch)
Then Connect to BMS with PC APP and goto Update & select your Firmware and choose FORCE Update and enter the CODE...
Update & Force Update are different things.Yes tried that exact steps again nothing happens.
Both were deleted almost immediately.
I am guessing because I referenced a web site. First comment regarding SOC is still there. That's YT doing it.
I never saw any post that a inverterBMS is and stays bricked. With Force update it always gets resolved I read. Or you have messages the bms gets useless due to a flash? I have ordered 3x 200A 2A JK via Alibaba. I asked that I only wanted the 15.x hw version.Well Andy is fizzing and popping as he got ver 15.3 ver for HW and he seems very happy
. Does it work for you?
FWIW I tried to buy a JK BMS on EB (uk) and asked 6 suppliers what FW version number they were selling (so called new), 5 out of 6 no reply, 1 wanted to know my order number - so that tells you there may well be many units floating in the market that might not update or even become bricked. Of course you dont get any customer response with Aliex - just gimme your money. So I dont know how I will be able to buy a genuine latest model updated to ver 15.3? Do I want to be a masochist and spaff £130 to end up with a brick - as reported herein.
What to do?

Yeah I am aware that it is different update method have flashed other BMS also with force update without issue only one is not responding to any update/downgrade.Update & Force Update are different things.
Force Update when bricked requires the Power Reset as described and you have to hold the Power Button.
You will also need the CODE to force the update from here: https://mirofromdiro.github.io/JK-firmware-code/
* 100% SOC is triggered when 1st cell reaches setpoint and cuts off Charging with connected Inverters (Make/Model experiencing this)
* SOC Drift Correction & resets must be addressed and lower resolution for Amperage in/out needs improvement to show at "least" 0.1 accuracy.
* Errors within Battery Packs in parallel are not identified by the pack to Victron UI.
* BMS cannot disable T3 & T4 if BMS is used in 8S Config and generates a persistent ERROR if the sensors are not present.
(could be auto-config based on # of cells or with a switch.)
* PC-APP cannot download BMS Profile and upload same to other BMS', requiring manual setting of Each BMS parameters separately.
* PC-APP should also be able to run on Linux / Mac. LINUX more likely preferred.
* Phone-APPs install inconsistently on Phones with some versions installing while others do not on the same phone. There are also different sources from PGYER or Google-Play or JKBMS.NET which are often different versions as well. APPLE likely the same ?
* A LACK of Update Notes / Change Logs on Patches (firmware) and on Software which is critical to know what has been addressed/fixed/updated.
* DEFAULTS for LFP & Other chemistries MUST BE CORRECTED to safe values (Temp Cutoffs & Voltages etc)
Then specific Protocol Stack issues for Victron, PylonTech, Deye and others as YOU THE OWNERS have experienced and noted.
If you switch off BT, how can it be re-enabled? Is there a hardwire link that can be used to connect back and re-enabled?Good stuff Steve
IIRC Andy crackled on about getting locked out if you forget your password. I think this was on his list of things todo? Its a real PITA if you forget - and peeps do.
He suggested that something similar to the way routers handled the issue. ie have a local factory reset button and also a way to switch off BT manually - slide switch?
