JKBMS Inverter Edition Problems/Issues | No Support / Help to fix major issues. - DO NOT BUY ! Warning (as of Oct.12.2024)

If you downloaded it from the Play Store its still the old version, the new version has to be downloaded and installed outside of the Play Store. As I am on Android 15 that's no longer an option with the apk file provided.
You can install 4v30 app on Android 15. All you need to do is allow installation of applications from unknown sources.

Apart from this big variation in value, I am completely satisfied with the operation of my battery, and the balancing is done very very well at the end of charging and the soc goes to 100%
Agreed, 0.056 ohm to 0.099 ohm is way higher than busbar resistance or cell IR.
So naturally we might think it is balance lead resistance. But people have said it isn't that either?

Could be 0.056 milli-ohm busbar resistance.
Too low to be cell IR, which might be 0.170 milli-ohm to 0.250 milli-ohm.

No Top area on android 15. JK BMS play store version with android 15 I am not able to see top part , just seeing like following image . working fine on android 10

Just went to update to the new version and the old "Your Phone is Incompatible" nonsense is back again. This is beyond tedious already.
Well in any case, gonna update the fleet of V15 BMS to 15:38
Nice sunny Sunday in a Heatwave of -3C, the -20C and below are back Monday night so...

Gotta say, I'm hesitant to do all the packs... anxiety over such things should not be a factor... Great Job JK...

UPDATE 37 minutes later....
Pack, 1, 2 Went OK and got to 15:38. Pack 3 Gosh Golly FDarn, BRICKED at 51% and is as dead as a post non-responsive... Won't even power off.
The next three are on a shelf, and would have to be pulled out to open the covers to disconnect the BMS from Power to reset it...
As Fred Flinstone is known for saying: Ruckus Stuckus Frickus Fruckus ! stomp stomp stomp

Update an hour later....
Pop the case cover, pull the power wire and play the Reset Button Powerswitch combo and 4 attempts and got back to 15:30 - Phew... Was I smart & quite there ? Hell NO ! Let's try 15:38 again... Got to 99% and Bricked again ! (Air got a bit more blue !!!) Teh plug, reset & powrswitch dance once again and after 6 more attempts finally got 15:30 back in and WORKING so THWT ! Buttoned the damned thing up and brought the lappie etc back in from the powerhouse.

Time to Puff a Doobie, Pet the Cat & Watch a good comedy ! Geez Louise !

DID GLEEN A LESSON !
If an update to BMS fails, then no repeat attempt will work IF you do not restart the PC-App.
something in it's code glitches and keeps the error.
1) Restart PC-App and get it set to proper COM# Port, Don;t "CONNECT YET"
2) START the BMS from an OFF State and WHILE HOLDING POWER SWITCH, connect the PC-App, Select the Update, the file, force update & PASTE in the CODE, continue with update till 100% & BEEPS THEN LET GO OF POWER BUTTON !!!! Gotta hold the Effin thing all through the update process. That is the ONLY combo that works, and I tried the variations not only THIS time, had to go back to my notes.

PS: I am using the Official JKBMS USB -> RJ45 dongle/cable assembly.

I am having an issue with one of my batteries, no matter what I set the charge current too, when it starts charging it basically max's out whatever it being fed to it (200-300 amps etc), triggers the over charge current protection, timer counts down from1 min and repeats. Regardless if I set charge current to 10 amps or 150 amps in the bms it does this. Idea's what is going on? JK bms, 200 amp, 16c 2a active balancer with latest firmware, 15.38, I have several batteries, only this one is having this problem.

Best guess is that batteries voltage is lower than the other batteries. Check the voltages on each batteries and see if this one is significantly lower than the others.

If it is you need to get all of the batteries up to a similar charge before you connect them together. If you were to turn off a battery and leave it off for a while when you turn it back on it may be too far away from the others and do this.

They are all close in voltage, this is not a brand new battery, been using it for several months.

You checked the voltage in each batteries BMS to compare it?
They are close in charge but not exactly the same but why would the bms allow that much current to flow, isn't the point of it to control the amount of current that is allowed to go in and out of it? It is as if the bms has no control over how much current is flowing in and out, all the other batteries do not go over the set currents.

The BMS does not control the current except by completely disabling charging, there is no mechanism to reduce current only turn it off. For that much current to flow the voltage MUST be lower, that is why I am asking you how you checked the voltage, because the voltage MUST be lower on htat battery.
SOC is terribly unreliable, that is why I am asking what voltage is being reported in the BMS.
All the setting for charging current does is tell the inverter how much current to limit, and it will turn up the voltage until it gets the right amount of current, but with multiple batteries it is a total and it will flow to the lowers voltage battery.

Okay I see, I will wait until they are all similar in voltage/state of charge before trying again and see what happens, thanks.

Just went to update to the new version and the old "Your Phone is Incompatible" nonsense is back again. This is beyond tedious already.
That's because, started from V 4.28 , they compiled their app with supporting only arm64v8 architecture , so phones using v7 now out of luck. While versions before V 4.28 was compiled with ONLY v7 support. I don't understand what would be a problem for them to compile for both. Most normal apps exists for v7 and v8.
Also. I tried to install V 4.30 on my arm64v8 based phone: it installed then just simply not starting, no reaction to the tap on app's icon. Tried many times reinstalling, tried with V 4.29, V 4.28 - the same. V4.27 - already only v7 support - does not install, but installed on v7 based phone. Although there was a problem also: it stuck for about 1 hour at the end of installation process, when "cancel" button was already disabled. I waited almost 20 minutes ! - then left the phone like that. After 1 hour or even more I noticed it installed. And working. But that's V 4.27, but with V4.30 which required for complete functionality I have no hope:(

I've still never seen any issues with the iOS versions.. sure seems like Android has a lot of problems.

Hi guys,

I have purchased four JK-PB2A16S20P recently (12-2024). hardware version V15.
They work fine. I am able to configure them over bluetooth and smartphone.

But I am not able to connect via RS485 and PC. I have installed JK-BMS-Monitor 2.8.0 on a Win11 PC. I am using a USB-RS485 adapter (FTDI).
However, as you can see on the attached image I am not able to see data or modify settings.
I have set 115200 baud rate, 8 databits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no flow control.
The firmware version of the BMS is V15.33
The only message the BMS sends to the PC is what I have captured right after a reset. Nothing else, even after waiting an hour.
Not even forced firmware update works. It will simply not start updating FW.

Please advise.JK-BMS-MONITOR.png

First thing to do is turn off or minimise the the "terminal" display so you can see the rest of the main screen. I love that "terminal" display function that they have BTW.
