"A google of juntek (formally junctek, a funny story)"

Supposedly, the Chevy "Nova" had to be renamed in Mexico: "no va" in Spanish means "it doesn't go"

UPDATE: The above is a myth: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/chevrolet-nova-name-spanish/

Anyway... the power meter white-label manufacturer is http://junteks.com/ and choose English at upper right

It is retailed by WonVon, Goupchn, etc.

These notes are focused on the KG-F series.

I got the 400A version. Most of the reviews are over at the 600 amp version. I can't write a review there because "Amazon has noticed unusual reviewing activity on this product. Due to this activity, we have limited this product to verified purchase reviews."

"QR codes provided by the quick set up guide" - worked for me

Android app is by Juntek and named “KG” with a logo that shows “VA”

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.juntek.vat&hl=en_US&gl=US

Note only one app / phone can connect to the sampling unit at one time.

"The app is perfect, the display is not realtime" - this may be a defect that developed in use. The spec says update is once per second. So far, my display is working fine.

GPS location and Android - This causes some consternation among US users. Here is the likely explanation from Steve at OverkillSolar.com where he says in the manual FAQ section:

"Android 5 and later requires access permission to the (coarse) location services. Otherwise it cannot scan for bluetooth products. Besides permitting access, the location services may also need to be enabled. Note that after enabling location services, the GPS can be switched off. Please be aware that this is a Google Android phone quirk. The BMS does not require this information to work; nor does Overkill Solar care what your location is. Google’s excuse is that they are no longer using MAC addresses as identifiers between devices, and that they now use GPS. Which is probably BS. It’s probably an excuse to collect more location info which they store in their giant database. But there’s not much that can be done about it."

Will update as the testing proceeds.

Maybe they think the naming methods of wonvon and goupchn are more acceptable to everyone.

Well,
even though the Nova does not really put one in mind of "no va", Junctek does of JunkTech... a bit :·)
But then a Korean carmaker is selling millions of cars branded Killed In Action, when most of the action that kills nowadays tends to happen in cars... that's a lot worse ;·)

It may be caused by the culture of different countries. If you know in advance, I think they will change a more appropriate name to promote the products. However, their products are really cost-effective.

I just ordered this for my home battery module/cell test station... I want to hook up the serial interface to a laptop or Raspberry Pi/Arduino and read the serial values out into a log file... This, combined with the ISDT X16 (https://www.isdt.co/x16.html?lang=en) will allow me to test my cells and modules up to 16S for both my EV conversions and home ESS projects.

Has anybody played with the serial interface yet?
