Need a “kill a watt” type of meter
Don’t want to buy trash
Don’t have a lot of $$$ so Under $50

Any Suggestions based on your own experiences of good ones and which to stay away from ???

real kill-a-watt
sonoff POW
extension cord with the individual conductors exposed and a clamp meter/shunt.

Amazon is your friend.
I got a cheap knockoff there a few months ago and it works fine.

Thanks everyone who replied.
But, I don’t want to make one, I just want to get one from Amazon.
I see Will P uses one a lot, does any know that make and model? I know he doesn’t buy crap and continue to use it.
Thanks in advance

This gadget is handy too:

Lets you easily measure current draw, for 120vac appliances, with a clamp meter. See image #2 if you're unfamiliar. The additional "x10" section helps to measure small currents.

Since you want to,buy one and do not want a copy, try this:
P3 P4460
under $50 on Amazon

The price of P3 on HarborFreight is pretty decent, and FYI. just search by "Kill A Watt". the deal even better if combine with regular HF 20% coupon.

A number of places that used to sell the Kill a Watt meter no longer do. I just bought a Gardner Bender wattmeter for $30, which works fine, but the display seems dim, especially since it's generally not in a well lit area.

Thanks. I ended up getting a couple of P3s from Harbor Freight.
