In this article on The Korea Herald, the author claims that LFP have a higher overall cost than Lithium-Ion, suggesting that LFP return much less valuable metals when recycled. He also suggests that LFP are in fact dangerous, but that the reports of catastrophic failures have been covered up in China.
I'm personally more than a little suspicious, I've seen several videos that demonstrate the significant difference between the failure modes, and would rather have a less power dense much safer battery sitting in my house or car. Nonetheless, if the article is true then I could see it being a deciding factor to a commercial entity.
 
There is a rather big difference between a fire because of burning electrolyte, and a fire because of thermal runaway. All batteries can catch fire, the issue with thermal runaway fires is putting them out.
