Doing a solar install, my understanding is everything needs labeling and plan order labels via pvlabels, so the conduit needs labeling as well or just the boxes/disconnects etc?

Depends. Whose requirements are you trying to meet? And what would you like to see for yourself and other potential operators?

Here in my US state, my inspector required the metal conduit indoors to have labels every 10 feet "Solar PV DC Circuit" or "Caution DC Circuit" (I am DC coupled).

Good luck finding every exact thing that needs to be labeled. I think you need to apprentice to find out for sure.

This place sells standard job packs with a battery add on option.

I bought my labels from pvlabels.com.

I probably spent over 100 hours studying the various NEC and Fire Codes to figure out exactly how things needed to be properly labeled. I also looked at about 10 professionally installed systems to verify my understanding. What I learned from studying the professionally installed systems, is they basically learned what the inspectors required in the jurisdictions where they do installs. Almost none of them were actually fully properly labeled to be 100% in compliance with all the codes.

It's also pretty important to know up front if you need to meet the 2017, 2020, or 2023 NEC solar codes. Because there are a lot of differences in the labeling requirements between them.

One thing my inspector also insisted upon was printed labels for voltage and amperage numbers. The set of labels I had had blank spots to fill in the numbers, which I did with an indelible marker. But he wanted actual labels for the numbers themselves.

Luckily I had a label maker at work. So I printed the proper numbers, put them over top of my indelibly marked numbers, sent the inspector the pictures, and he approved my system.

He said he was worried about fading, and that it was in the code. I am not sure where.

Sounds like you don't need to be "To Code", you need to be "To Inspector", so good to look at other systems that passed _your_ inspector, and talk to him about what he wants.

In my barn, the mc cable that comes in from the outside ground mount is attached to the top of a rafter(s) that routes the mc cable over to and down into the tack room where my panel, battery, and inverter are mounted. The labels are attached both to the wall immediately as the mc cable enters and on the underside of the rafter(s) to which the cable is attached on top.

Thus if you look up you see the labels.
