Hello everyone,
I have been reading and following this forum and with the information gathered I was able to set up my solar installation. I have a 48v 4kw low frequency hybrid inverter with 60a MPPT, 4*300w PV array and 4*200ah gel lead acid battery bank. I want to upgrade from lead acid battery to lifepo4 battery and I'm planning on buying the cells and build the battery.
Now the questions before going ahead:
1. What capacity of lifepo4 battery can give me the exact capacity of the 200ah?
2. Having read about the issues of some BMS, which BMS would be the most recommended for the proper charging balancing and protecting the lifepo4 battery?
3. And other accessories needed to build the lifepo4 battery to give best protection and performance

1) assuming you are currently running your Gell cells down to 50% DOD you can get away with 100ah of LifePo4 for the equivalent capacity
2) BMS requriements will depend on personal preference and peak current draw, after trying a few I ended up with the Electrodacus

Thanks for replying, I was thinking of 120ah of lifepo4, I will try and learn more about electrodacus bms

KISS applied is always best.
48V LFP requires 16 Cells, one BMS and a Fuse for it.
1, Overkill 16S/100A BMS is $150 ish. https://overkillsolar.com/product/bms-100a-16s-lifepo4/
16 LFP cells $??$
1, MRBF Fuse (BlueSea / Bussman/Eaton) $30 +/-
1, case/box for the battery pack. Open, depends on your spae & needs & wants.

Your existing setup can provide 100AH, the options below can present a significant upgrade.
280AH = 16 cell bundle at $1890 delivered. (common popular cells used here, pricing for Luyuan Grade-A-Matched EVE cells.
202AH cells are available at $79.80ea or 1276.80 for 16 pcs.
105AH cells are available at $47.80ea or 1149.00 Delivered. for 16 pcs. (Matched Grade-A EVE's)

Will just did a video on the Overkill 12V & 24V models.

Thanks man I'm really impressed by Will's YouTube review I think I will go with the overkill BMS.

New to the Forum but looking to do a battery like Will built but with a 200 Amp BMS. I did PM Mike Carro to see if he still has a solid LiFePO4 source for 272 to 310 AH 3.2V cells. My usage is an RV current with two roof top 100 W panels and plan to add 200 W portable as well.
