I was just reading about this. Pagers, laptops, handheld radios and home solar systems have been exploding. Theres no information on how, maybe hacking??? Crazy stuff

Unless there's an explosive (which batteries are not) inside the device you can not just randomly remotely detonate it.

There was no "hacking" to somehow make the battery catch fire.

Still are we talking the kinds of DIY systems we put together or 'solar generators' with batteries, SCC, and inverters integrated into a box with external solar panel inputs?

Right, these were recently acquired "dumb tech" put in use to not be hackable. Instead somehow were laden with explosives.

If I had access to your battery BMS settings...and changed the max charge voltage per cell to 15v ... and the pack max voltage to 200v ... then played with the charging settings... no explosions likely, but could lead to a fire. Many of the stock DIY BMS's are all the same access code BT accessible if close by...000000 or 123456...

Absolutely, crazy if they could reprogram devices remotely to cause it to explode the battery without adding explosives

Reprogram a charger and ev parked in a parking garage and you will shut down a block.

Battery Controller app that ask for your GPS info before it will talk to the BMS.. If it doesn't see internet in a certain period of time it quits working or BOOM if preprogrammed time.
 
There is a lot of paranoia going on, so any electrical fault is going to be blamed on Mossad. Also, this type of attack only works if the target is nearby, which is rather unlikely with a solar system.
 
Reports are saying the pagers were rigged by Mossad I suspect it was done when they got shipped. They intercepted the shipment maybe their own people were able to gain employment at the shipping companies used. The devices were probably swapped out with devices that had been modified with explosives.

News story about solar probably just rumors spreading around.

All the cheering people are not forward thinking enough to realize that this is the biggest part of the story. Just wait for the retaliation and then the government rules that will go into place. To combat it.
I ask you all a question. What if 20 random iPhones and 20 random Android phones exploded at the same time in the USA.

Speculation I heard is that the pagers had two rechargeable battery cells, similar to AA cells. Somewhere in transit they may have been intercepted, and one of the cells was replaced with a timed explosive (or both were replaced by 1/2 cells with the other half the timed explosive, to maintain voltage). It appears the estimated size of the explosive is consistent with that theory. Weight of cell is 23g, and estimated size of explosive is 20g.
