LifeP04 meltdown in a Sprinter van ?

Used a full 10lbs to stop the flames and the ran the shower on the cells to cool them down…. They were cooking and didn’t want to have the others start cascading as well.
I'm aware this is months old.
Currently in the beginning stages of converting to LiFePo4
in my TT, and will be relocating the battery to the inside.
In hindsight do you think a battery disconnect switch in close proximity
to the battery would be helpful in an emergency situation such as yours?
I understand it couldn't have prevented your situation, but I'm wondering
if it could have been useful while you were putting out the fire?

If there is a fire anywhere near the battery/component compartment, there's no way I'm sticking my hand in there to turn the master switch. I might hit the compartment with the fire extinguisher if there is flame, but I'm more likely to get outside far enough away to be safe and take pictures so I can post an epic thread in the "Up In Smoke" subforum. Everybody likes pictures.
