You can safely use 3/8" Stainless Steel bolts if you want to but be careful there is nothing that can touch the backside (cover the bolt head somehow).
Remember is it the "Contact Face" that matters most, so the flat side of the cable lugs together. Do not use galvanised steel bolts, they can create real problems. A little OxGuard on the contacting surfaces s a goo idea too BTW.

Sure ... I'm using the copper bus to jumper the bolt and nut between the "U" ... I'm sure some current is going through the steel nut/bolt but they are no longer warm ...

Those stainless steel cases look nice, but shipping is almost as much as the case for me and would cost about 75% of what I want to spend on cells themselves! I guess I'll have to settle for a DIY solution.

I agree .... I built my case from free steel ...

Sure it was dangerous to cut up a fuel tank but with adequate preparation it can be done ... I did.

This says free shipping.

I've been looking at plastic boxes from Plano, originally meant for hunting gear but seems to work. I was aiming for 150ah cells earlier and if I remember correctly the medium size would be enough if you think twice with the layout - https://www.planomolding.com/sportsman-s-trunk-medium and available at various places.

I haven't tried it myself but I'm about to order the large version for 16x280ah cells

I'm still seeing ~$300 shipping. I am located in Canada so that might be the difference. Where are you located?

I wonder how that spray on truck bed liner might work to coat the inside of a metal box. I have no experience with it, just wondering.
