Hi all,

I have 16x280ah EVEs (F280Ks) in 4 sets to go 12 volt. And for the next year or so I would like to continue using the Mastervolt 12/70-3 charger that I already have.

I seem to have a lot of programming options with the Mastervolt and I would like to go very soft on the batteries, but would like to learn what would be the best settings to at least charge them full speed and stop when done :)

What settings would you recommend?

Settings possibleSettings I'm thinking about
Bulk voltage13.90 v
Maximum Bulk time10 hours
minimum bulk time0 min
absorption voltage13.80 v
max. absorption time30 min
min absorption time0 min
return amps (% of maximum charge current)0%
return amps timer0 min
float voltage13.75 v
forced float voltage (constant voltage charging)0
return to bulk voltage13.05
return to bulk time delay240sec
maximum charge current70amp
alarm delay time30 sec
alarm dc high on14.05
alarm dc high off13.90
alarm dc low on12.80
alarm dc low off12.85

bulk=3.55(14.2)
absorption=3.55(14.2)
float=3.35(13.4)
return to bulk=3.15(12.6)
alarm dc high = 3.6(14.4)
alarm dc high off = 3.55(14.2)
alarm dc low = 3.05(12.2)
alarm dc low off = 3.15(12.6)

bulk=3.55(14.2)
absorption=3.55(14.2)
float=3.35(13.4)
return to bulk=3.15(12.6)
alarm dc high = 3.6(14.4)
alarm dc high off = 3.55(14.2)
alarm dc low = 3.05(12.2)
alarm dc low off = 3.15(12.6)

I will try these settings :)
But I think that the moment I set float to 13.4, the charger basically stops charging at 13.4v

(I think I had a low float like this before and the charger basically hit that soon and stopped charging)
