So, thinking aloud here. If I take my spare 210Ah 12v diy battery and wire the perkins 10hp twin cylinder genset to the positive and negative terminals rather than via the jk bms, what will be the downside? The BMS cannot cut off the battery for sure but the balancer can still balance the cells. The starter motor is a tiny 900w job at 12v. Theoretically 80A. I could wire the starter through the 200A JK BMS but it may trip on high inrush current from the starter motor. The cells are Eve grade A 105Ah from 18650 battery store. Any thoughts?
The battery is surplus to requirements so trying to think of a use. It's only done 50 cycles so as new condition
