I have been running 48v 16s 150ah lifepo4 for several months conservatively with charge controller to battery then to grid tie inverter. I have a bms and active balancer. The weather has been awful so I decided use the low power input to try trickling the battery higher to allow some top end balance. I switched off the inverter and noticed my cell delta was way better. I had noticed multimeter readings were pretty good before and had wondered if the input/output to/from the battery was confusing the balancer.
It's not drastic just an observation.
Another point of anyone can advise is the voltage on the first cell negative is always a little higher than the pack - is this just the direction of electron flow? This obviously starts the balancer when perhaps it's not needed?
Sorry if these are basic/stupid observations
