FedEx was here today, I felt bad for that poor guy...it had to be 120 in that truck!

Just like @Horsefly I have one cell that has the + and - on the outside of the studs and an oddball QR label.... Weird.

One cell has a very small nick on the corner, near the bottom. Pretty much cosmetic.

One cell has a small dent on the bottom edge, nothing significant.

One other cell has a slightly more pronounced dent in almost the same spot.

On one stud it looks like the welder got a little too close. Not a defect.

The cells are all flat and there are no signs of swelling.

The studs all line up and appear straight.

All things considered, I'm satisfied with the condition they arrived in. Almost 4 months to the day since I ordered, I'm just glad they're finally here! There were 14 buss bars in each box, the bag was broken in one and they were all over the place. I suspect this is the source of the minor dents I noted. oddly, all the nuts and washers were in one box and I counted, there are enough for all 16 cells. I'll post later with voltages out of the box.
Are these Lishen 272ah cells?

So @Brett V - Since we have been on a parallel path, getting 230Ah cells a couple of days apart: You are choosing to compress & top balance. Are you trusting that the capacities are good? I am in the initial days (many days) of testing each cell for capacity. Maybe I'm being silly. Did you get some info that made you feel the cell capacity was good to go?

I think individual cell capacities would be interesting data but I waited 4 months for these and didn't order a spare cell so it is what it is. I figure I'll see what the assembled pack does and live with it.

I understand. I'm building something for a winter in our cabin, and this winter will be a test at our home. So I'm not in a hurry at all, since the actual deployment isn't until next fall (2022). I'd make the same choice you are.

Switched to 32x lishen 150s instead of 16x 280s on Apr 28, got a label May 28 received 6 packages last Friday, but summer is over and school has started so instead of opening these bad boys and testing, configuring and putting them into service I’ll have to teach my students to read all my manuals for 8th grade English lol Thanks Michael!

Been over 2wks since Lishen was to complete a deal with Michael's supplier and hopefully shortly after that we should see some movement. Bigbattery does not have any info on any cells. Anyone heard anything? I am sure Michael is swamped and probably hasn't had time to circle back.

After seeing my cells in California on UPS I thought I'd have them within a week. Now it seems there is some sort of delay. Called UPS and they couldn't give me any more info without me filling out a claim form.

On a side note, I did order an additional 8 280Ah cells from Michael that were already in the states and received 4 yesterday and the other 4 are arriving today. First 4 were in perfect condition and had voltages of

Here is the video on the fixture for the CATL cells:

This is all becoming OT to the subject of group buys with Michael, but I have several disagreements with that video. Slightly swollen cells are not necessarily "junk", and cmerely cranking bolts and bars on plastic boards (without springs) creates wildly different amounts of compression when the cells want to expand and contract in charging versus discharging. Springs cost more, but they work correctly.

Same thing.

Been out of the the thread for a month. Got tracking on CATL 280 cells back mid Jun. Saw they were in Cali. Now this. Ideas?
