I can't seem to find any information on fire arrestors used in commercially available Lithium Iron type batteries.

Some manufacturers such as EG4 advertise 'Dual On-Board fire arrestors' that appear to be long noodle type material as I've seen inside commercial packs. Exhaustive searches yield no results as to what this material is, how it puts out a lithium fire (or just stops the spread within the battery), or if it is available for purchase. I would like to incorporate it into my DIY batteries. Any insight appreciated.

There was also a thread here in the last few weeks you could search for.

I got a quote for some of the puck style for my battery boxes and they quoted $15.00 each, they were sized based on volume of enclosure.

More specific to the battery bank use case:

Very interesting, thanks guys, I too am going to look into this.
$15.00 ! sounds like low cost "insurance" per battery pack.

Tried the search function before posting. Didn't see anything surprisingly. Also didn't come up with anything regarding fire suppression for lithium other than large room size options. Maybe I forgot how to use the internet, or search engines are getting worse.

Thanks for sharing this, and others. Glad to have some options!

Ah, I should have been more specific...

I meant to to search this forum.

Here's the thread I remembered:

Found it with the search term "fire suppression".

When I searched the Aliexpress link to OYEMADA - it came up "no longer available"
So I sent an inquiry to the link at Jiangxi Aware Fire Techology - see how they respond.

That guy seems to target lithium batteries yet he doesn't talk about all the tire recycling yards that catch fire over the years.

This one here in Phoenix went up in 2021 I know been several metal recycling yards that went up in smoke get it hot enough everything burns.

He specialized it in. The fireman are changing all the codes of battery storage and quick shutdown. they are the #1 push for all the new codes and restrictions.
