I am trying to find a split phase (or 240V+transformer) off-grid inverter in the 5-6KW range, that accepts a 120V AC input for charging. Preferably that can accept > 250VDC of solar. So far, no luck. The MPP LVX6048 and Growatt 5000 from MPP requires 240V input. The Growatt 6K split phase only has a paltry 150VDC input. Im starting to think that two units paralleled in split phase is my only choice. Am I missing other products out there? I admit I have been focused on the MPP and Growatt units, as I am trying to keep it in the $1500 range.

You might take at look at this Conext.
It says in the description "The Conext SW 4kW (48 VDC) features 120/240 VAC output, capable of producing 120/240 VAC output from a 120 VAC input, without the need for an external transformer".
I have the 24V version for my workshop, though I have it wired for 240V charging, so I can't give you a hands on answer about using 120V.
