Hey everyone, I’m new on here and this is my first post. I hope to learn a lot here, I’m a beginner.
I ran across a video on YT where a guy is plugging in his 100ah 24v lifepo4 battery into the solar input of his power station. He claims by doing this the two units sync adding the wh from the battery to his total usage. I would like to know if this can be done safely? If I didn’t explain it clearly, his channel is ‘The old Jarhead’ video title is, The best way to boost your portable power station. I don’t know if posting links is allowed here so I did not do it.
Thanks for any help.

Nope. There's no meaning to "sync" here. He's simply supplying a battery instead of a solar panel.

It's fine for single shot, and it should be fused for the PV input current limit of the power station. It will drain the 24V until empty if loads/charging consume it. Then you will need to charge it somehow.

That's the benefit of the battery expansion modules. Those expand the actual battery capacity and charge it with the built-in AC and PV chargers.

His next chronological video shows you the absurdity of it.

Done it a few times myself to recharge a 12v system when there was no sun. The SCC just sees DC power in the right range and charges, it can't tell if that DC source is a solar panel, battery, turbine, or hamster wheel with a 6 year old on Monster.
