Looking for light weight rigid solar panels

Hi,

I am wondering whether there are panels out there that have a lower mass than the average. I am looking for panels to install on the roof of a vehicle and don't want to exceed the max. load rating of the roof. After reading about the delaminating issues with (semi) flexible and CIGS panels I am just looking for rigid ones. Does anyone have information on this?

Good luck with that. The only way to get less weight is to go with a smaller wattage panel. If you do that, you may need more panels to get the number of watts you're looking for. An alternative is to supplement the roof PV with a set of ground deployed PV panels.
