Luyuan battery case

Amy gave me info/pics of the 2 cells that are being shipped out now to replace the 2 that FedEx lost.. just wonder where in the heck that box really ended up.
Good to hear she took care of you. I am thinking of doing another purchase. I don't know what will come of all this tariff talk but now may be a good time to buy?

Packaging could sure use improvement. Opened my third box and all of them had similar damage to the "accessories" box inside but this was the worst. This is from the long metal standoffs inside the case that this is put up against.

which resulted is ferrule being torn off and is impossible to get back on so had to use a larger ferrule I had:

screws all over the place from bag ripping open (and some made it all the way out of the accessories box and in the metal box itself):

Also cut insulation on one of the busbars:

and this was damaged before it was shipped since the plastic wrap was done after it was damaged:

I think all of that damage (except last one) could be prevented if there was something harder on both sides of the accessories box..

I didn’t have any shipping damage on my three orders but I ordered enough extras that the battery boxes were pretty full, with not a lot of room for the items to shift around.

I hate to say it but DIY is hard. You have to do a lot of work to save that money.
But these DiY kits wouldn't get started if nobody bought them.

Having built a a number of DIY batteries I have found the experience invaluable. The skills learned can be used in other projects down the road. These skills with a multimeter, crimper, shrink wrapping, etc were helpful in my portable panel builds, combiner box and portable power station.

Goes for a lot of things. Lot easier to open the wallet, if the money is there. But DIY can be rewarding too along with the saving money part.
There are times though I'll pay the money. Time can be a factor. Also, I stink at finish work (I'm VERY slow at it if it even comes out right), so I paid someone to finish and paint the drywall and do the trim when I had to rebuild the wall around the one window that rotted out.

Sorry, I've purchased from aliexpress but am new to Alibaba and I'm wondering why shipping two of these Luyuan cases supposedly costs 165,616.00 USD when I go to order them?

I just ordered four 16S battery boxes with JK BMS and Screens from Luyuan yesterday. DDP Shipping to Nebraska was $375
None of the pricing information on Alibaba is set until you make an inquiry and get a quote. Especially with the shipping cost.

Edited to add that when asking for a quote, be sure to specify exactly which product you are interested in. Don't assume they will know by the product on the page you started from. They often have many different product pages with similar products and slightly different configurations. Always just spell it out in the inquiry for the quote.

Nice, not bad for four boxes. Are they actually $100 per box or is that price adjusted once you request a quote as well? Thank you.

Just to be clear, I'm saying that the shipping cost for all the stuff I ordered was $375. There was an additional processing charge of about $50 added by Alibaba. The actual cost of the products I ordered was $1324. So the total is $1749.

I do think that the shipping cost from China for items that bulky was pretty reasonable.

Seems pretty good to me. You also get Amy's reputation. You can make changes until it ships so make sure to check everything.

Has anyone had luck running batteries in this Luyan box in closed loop communication with an EG4 AIO? Is it possible? Thank you
Should you ask which BMS works in a closed loop with EG4?

Luyan boxes can come in almost any BMS you want, typically many here order JK.

The cells I received from Amy in the last batch were EVE cells in an EVE box. The balance on those cells have been spectacular after initial balance.
I didn't even initially top balance these.. these are straight out of the box from china and plugged in.

I paid for the 2a JK balancer, it has the time to babysit the cells, I’m never going to waste my time top balancing ever again.

IMO there are way more ways I can screw up and unbalance the cells so other than tinkering for the sake of tinkering it have other things to do.

I am glad that I did buy the 30v 10a bench top power supply though, as it’s a great 24v battery charger, set it at max voltage max current and let the BMS handle the rest.

Cells from Luyuan with DIY box and JK Inverter BMS.. first time getting close to 100%.. look at how matched they are

Wow nice so which cells did you get from Luyuan? I'm just starting to learn about sourcing cells and I've read such differing opinions on getting cells from Alibaba but it would be very convenient to buy cells and boxes in one purchase and hopefully have them show up around the same time. My goal is two make two 280/300ah batteries.
