Luyuan battery case

Could someone send pictures of the Luyuan 16S box? Does it have a fuse/breaker? Or heating? JK BMS? Thanks!
You can order them with your choice of BMS, these are 8s fronts and are the same as the 16s.

And these are a custom box I had Amy make for me with two 4s 12volt in one box with individual BMS and screen.

Start a chat with Amy and she will get you sorted.

That is the reason I went from four box kits to twelve along with extra BMS, screens and breakers. I don’t have everything assembled it will take me some time this year.
Yeah, I am now using up what's left in inventory and disposing of all the remnants when completed as I'm walking away from all of it. Property & everything being sold late spring and trimming down to One "Adventure Pack" (deluxe backpack with all that I need) and off to tick the last few Bucket List items.

Sounds like an adventure, I wish you luck I would like to do the same but stuck in the rut for a while longer.

And to add, the busbars now have shorter heat shrink. I just installed 48 cells the last few days plus have the latest version of the box. Arrived just Tuesday. The crossover busbar now is tinned.

Amy looked at the video and made improvements after I put the video out, plus Steve had his input.

Unfortunately, The Tariff OGRE is having increasing Tantrums against China and BRICS overall, ramping his threats etc...
Hope for the Best but really expect the worst so you don't get disappointed or let down. These are supposedly going start to be dropped beginning tomorrow, Saturday February 01.

Gotta wonder what Trix will be dropped on everyone on "April 1st".
He can impose tariffs on imports to Canada?

Did I miss our invasion and you guys became the 51st state?

I do have to say I’ve been seeing tons of “Ontario is Americas best friend/trade partner/neighbor.” commercials over the past few months, very nice.

Canada is doing it's own Tariffs & Duties and No the Orange Ogre can't make us do anything, regardless of what he thinks.
We are NOT hammering batteries & solar gear from China or many other things. But try to import that from Canada to US I have no idea what they'll do.

Currently chatting with Amy
Made the leap. Time will tell how tariffs work when they arrive on the west coast. Got another case, BMS, screen and batteries to fit.

Currently putting together one of Amy's 12v cases. Very solid, built like a tank and very inexpensive. Involves a bit more handiwork to fit the BMS and other bits and pieces plus accounting for double amp outputs. I got spoiled with 24v and the cases she provides. So much of the work is already done for you..

Latest box came with neoprene foam sheets in addition to the FRP sheets. Ferrules already crimped on the cables. A pair of straps for holding the older non inverter JK BMS. I did order the BMS from her and it came with the RS485 adapter and the ports for the front cover were thrown in for free.

Only one bolt holding the front plate to the center divider, none on the sides. Fed Ex must have banged it around a little as the center divider is bent at that bolt. I'm surprised the BMS screen wasn't broken. I can straighten the divider but it should have had more bolts on the plate.

I checked the 200A breaker and it fit in the hole this time. I bought this box as an extra and don't have cells for it so won't know every detail as I won't be assembling any time soon.

My gut wants to add another 8s 280k battery bringing my total storage capacity to around 20khwr.

But my logical brain says it’d be over kill for the camp until I have my 12k mini split up and running.

I'd buy the 16S Luyuan box and make it a parallel 8S 560Ah box with a pair of BMS's. Of course if you don't intend to carry it. :ROFLMAO:

Has anyone added active cooling to their box? Mine hasn't had to endure hot weather (it's installed inside my camper) yet.

I was thinking about this last night. The box I have (16 cell box) doesn't lend itself to air flow. The only way I can think of to add air flow is on the lid. Cut four holes in the lid. Two holes at the back, two holes near the front. Install fans with the fans at the back forcing air in and the fans at the front pulling air out.

Does it need it? Doesn't seem that LFP cells really get all that warm on their own.

I have insulation all around the cells in the truck camper except for the top. I recently finally used the heating pad and was surprised how fast 200W heated the batteries up from about 28°F to around 50°F. The battery is contained inside a cabinet that had the door closed which helps for heating.

If temps are high on a trip, I open the cabinet door. In your case, I would hinge the lid which would allow for airflow.

Well, I don't know. My prior cells were pretty much open-air, so they could shed heat. With these in a metal box I don't know how well they'll be able to do that.

Yeah this is 3 season camp, the batteries come home with me and spend a cozy winter in the basement. 8s 280 case has a fair amount of gravity to it, def the max I’m swinging around.

I was fortunate that my camper is a toy hauler and has a cargo ramp. Trying to muscle in a fully built 280 Ah 48v battery through a typical RV door would have sucked. The handles that Luyuan put on the box are excellent.

I'm ordering one of the JK inverter BMSs (JK-PB2A16S20P) for $109 with the front panel and the inner compression/BMS panel both for $19.
Since it turned out my regular active balance BMSs are so old they don't work with the displays in the cases I already have, I am also ordering 3 active balance BMSs (B2A24S20P) for $108 each. Air shipping is $89 for everything
In the future, I may convert all of my batteries to use the JK inverter BMSs but I don't think anyone has them working closed loop with the Solark yet. Using multiple JK inverter BMSs closed loop isn't working yet either.
This is a never ending project and I love it.
Any updates getting JK inverter BMS working or communication with Sol-Ark?

Those that have added heaters, where did you put them? On the bottom or center side seems like the only options for heater pads? As with all other premade boxes doesnt look like theres anywhere you could insulate unless you go outside the box. Though putting the epoxy fiberglass sheets in between a heating pad and the metal case would probably help a lot in prevent thermal transfer loss there at least.

My heating pads are from UltraHeat. I removed the foam backing material (maybe a bit less than 1/4" thick) and applied the heating pads to the cells. Then I added a plastic sheet (that came with the cells) to cover up the heating pad to protect it from the sides of the metal box. 2" insulation was added around the box.
