Luyuan battery case

She keeps long hours. Surprised how quickly she responds sometimes. Helpful to remember that she is on the other side of the world and sometimes there might be a delay in her response.

I have made multiple purchases from her and she has always been helpful. She is also very good at providing assistance and support after the items have been delivered.
Yep, I usually chatted with her after midnight to accommodate her work day, she made me some custom 12 volt battery boxes and It took quite bit of back and forth.

Plus one for reaching out to Amy. I placed an order with her last week and she was able to answer questions and add some additional requests with no issue. Prices were great for the battery cases and looking forward to receiving the products from her.

I'm curious, have tarrifs effect a purchase, and how, paid when ordered, or on port arrival, I'm very puzzled by how this happens. Who pay what when.... What have you seen so far, or expect?

I’m not expecting to pay any additional tariffs, but I won’t know until it arrives in a couple of months. IMG_3445.jpeg

Thanks for your info, it's the not knowing I find troubling, but so it is.
I ordered cells through EVcomponents and I’m not expecting any price increase upon port arrival either. All in I’m at $5k for 48kwh worth of batteries, 3 custom boxes, bus bars, JK BMS, etc… with shipping. Just need to wait 55-60 days. Cells have shipped from factory already. Can’t wait to start this journey.

I placed my order early April with DDP, no additional fees have been requested and my order arrived last Thursday.

You can always ask amy as well before placing you order.

Well, last week I contacted Amy and 7 days later I received notice that FEDEX accepted my 8S battery box, JKBMS v19 and with the latest screen.

So I'm ready to play the new JKBMS game AND the tariff games.

I'll keep you updated on the progress.

This is my fourth 8S battery box with JK BMS ordered from Amy, and as always it was a pleasure working with her.

Meaning Fed ex tracking numbers were generated and are awaiting arrival to port?

Also if you ask she’ll be able to send you the cargo ship and you can track its arrival at port.

You go with Eve mb31 cells? If so twinsies!!

I will note I’m not as happy with the single threaded post and the braided copper flexible bus bars, but I’m in a low current demand (peak of 50a) as this will be third in the bank.

Do you have dimensions of the cases?
Yes. Overall dimensions:
Length 28.625”
Width. 16.375”
Height 10.5” (tall)

I finally got around to building one of my two Luyuan boxes. First time I've built one of these so hopefully it turned out alright. I chose not to top balance. I'm hoping the active balancer will handle it. I will slow charge it with a few solar panels to get it into its balancing window/voltage once I get my solar components set up.

I torqued the terminal nuts to about 35inlb but found it difficult to keep the flexible busbars straight when tightening them. Hopefully thats not an issue? Cell voltages seem pretty well balanced as-is based on the display screen. I'm confused how it knows the voltage of each cell if they're all connected to each other in series. I understand the BMS has a wire to each positive terminal but still I'm curious how that works.

My batteries came with 6 of the small foam pads, I know each row gets at least one in the rear and one in the front. Where do the other 2 go? I decided to put them up front, figured a little extra cushion couldn't hurt. I also wasn't sure how tight the pressure plate screws are supposed to be but I got the real snug.

I just left the temperature sensors on top of the cells in their own quadrants, should they go somewhere specifically?

I did end up with an alarm code for some reason, it states: "2. Over charge protection." I'll look into it now.

Overall so far I am pleased with this box, the cells and the whole experience with Amy.

As long as the surface contact area isn't reduced or the braid pulled away, it's OK.

Too high of a charge current from the charge sources? Maybe the BMS parameters are set too low?

Space them out evenly. Tape them down to isolate them a bit from the ambient air.

Thank you for the response and for your edits to the JK wiring charts in a different thread!

I haven't connected anything to the battery yet, literally just flipped it on once I finished putting it together and the alarm code was on there already. I have yet to download the bluetooth app or explore its settings.
