LV5048 parallel to LV6048

Anyone know if the older MPP Solar LV5048 can be wired parallel to the new LV6048?

I am using currently using the LV5048 and would like to increase my watt output of my system.

Unfortunately no. This is straight from MPP website.

There is someone here in Puerto Rico that claims to be able to by changing the control board of the LV5048 to that of the LV6048.
A board swap! Though I have no first-hand experience with that.

Could something like that be really possible?

I've done some flashing for devices (wireless routers mainly) to a better version of firmware, but no hardware swap yet.
